Majid Al Futtaim’s first and largest shopping destination in the Sultanate, City Centre Muscat is currently operating a new Park Assist guidance system making it easier for customers to find parking spaces and help them locate their vehicle upon exiting the mall.
- Visitors’ experiences enhanced with new car park guidance system and lighting technologies, enabling shoppers to identify free parking spaces and easily locate their vehicles
- Technology delivers significant environmental benefits, lowering vehicle carbon emissions and fuel economy improvements
The new LED lighting system enables arriving guests to identify available parking spaces. Located on the ceiling of the carpark lanes, a green light indicates an available parking space; a blue light indicates a space for the disabled only and a red light means the space is occupied.
Additionally, the new car park guidance system kiosks, located at most of the mall entrances, will enable shoppers to find their vehicles easily after shopping, dining, or a cinema visit. Visitors can enter their car’s plate number on the touchscreen kiosks; click ‘Find’ to identify where their vehicle is.
As well as enhancing visitor’s overall mall experience the new system delivers significant environmental benefits, lowering vehicles carbon emissions and fuel economy improvements. Finding the quickest parking spot leads to fuel savings and in turn reduces carbon footprints. It is reported that for every 10 minutes a car engine is off; one pound of carbon dioxide is prevented from being released (carbon dioxide is the primary contributor to global warming) *https://www.edf.org/climate/reports/idling.
“Accessible, quick and easy parking is critical to our customer’s shopping experience. At City Centre Muscat, we continuously listen and respond to our visitor’s needs; installing this innovative technology is a reflection of how we value customer feedback and look to improve the convenience in our mall with the vision of creating great moments,” said Husam Al Mandhari, Senior Mall Manager at City Centre Muscat.
Drivers should immediately notice the new system in place when arriving at City Centre Muscat, as visible lights will enable them to identify the available parking spaces from a distance. The innovative technology behind the new car park guidance systemtracks every vehicle by license plate, enabling shoppers to be guided back to their parking spaces from a designated kiosk. The investment follows research and feedback received from shoppers as City Centre Muscat continuously innovates to enhance visitors’ experiences.
